    (OT) Interesting Klipsch speaks

    Vintage Klipsch Speakers (Belle-Klipschorn-LaScala)

    Kind of model 19 looking.

I have never heard of these.

Maybe some of the drivers are, but the cabintes are something that would make PT Barnum proud.

Stephane: "I've dubbed these the Empire, partly because they were influenced by the Empire era of design, and partly because of their domineering presence and presentation. They weigh in at 135 lbs. each."

In his OWN mind... Not to mentioned they weren't making speakers during the "Empire" period. Funny what people can try to pass off whether "opinion" or legitimate fact when they put up a "web site" and/or page.

If you read it on the internet, it's automatically factual.

This fella is obviously very proud of his efforts. Kudos to him for having pride. Beyond that, every encounter i've had with these speakers on the web has been a direct or shrouded effort to advertise their sale. So, IMO, they're either not that great, or he's hoping to start a business bastardizing Belles.

“..so I drilled some one way ports that would allow bass out of but not back into the lower cabs. That allowed for additional bass percolation and depth” ummmm....what?

    From the page-

"I built this set and soon afterward realized that I could never let them go; they became my immediate favorite speaker of choice. I'm letting them go ONLY..."

Laughable. Just like the one-way bass ports.

And IMO that is a sin in itself ! Cause the Belle is a very nice looking speaker and to do that to them is a.... Well lets just say he could use a head examination ! Probably the nicest looking Klipsch in my humble opinion.

Don’t get me wrong, I am all for additional bass percolation. It’s just that those one way vents are so dangerous. Imagine some poor noob installing them backwards, with a powerful woofer the resulting explosion would be devastating.
